Proud to support the 2021 Virtual Disability Football Awards

We’ve been a proud member of the MK Dons Sport and Education Trust since 2019 and have seen first-hand the life-changing impact their work has on the lives and experiences of the Milton Keynes community.

March would normally see us attending their annual Disability Football Awards – a vital fundraising event for the trust and a great way of celebrating their achievements over the last year and thanking key supporters. Due to covid restrictions, the event could not go ahead in person as originally planned but that didn’t stop the team pulling off a great virtual awards’ ceremony on Friday 5 March, hosted by MKFMs Darren Dorrington.

There were a range of awards presented this year including Volunteer of the Year, Spirit of the Community and Manager of the Year and we were delighted to sponsor the Panthers league 2 Award.

Over 20 disability teams were recognised on the night including the hard work of the 50+ volunteers, coaches and team members with awards presented by sponsors and members of MK Dons first team.

Carl Yeomanson, Owner at Plumbing and Gas Solutions and Facilities Management Solutions said:

"The trust operates a number of local initiatives which benefits a variety of groups in the heart of our community. What they do has a huge positive impact locally and it’s inspiring to see. Watching the inclusion of disability football sessions you can see & feel how important it is to the individuals, how much they embrace it and the lift it gives them. Without it there would be a void in those people’s lives."

"The support from our local businesses through our Friends of the Trust initiative is crucial when it comes to supporting people in Milton Keynes and the surrounding areas. We are truly humbled by the support we receive every year, it gives us all the confidence and support needed to grow as a charity and change as many people’s lives as possible in a positive way through Sport & Education"

Dean Bowditch, MK Dons SET Community Ambassador.
